The Foreign Candy Company

The Foreign Candy Company began in 1976 when Peter W. De Yager, a high school German teacher from Hull, Iowa, started importing gummy bears as a classroom fundraiser.

The company was officially incorporated in 1982 and entered the wholesale market by developing the Black Forest® gummy trademark.

Today, the Foreign Candy Company is known for its popular candy brands including Black Forest Gummy Bears, Warheads sour hard candy, and Rips fruity licorice products like Rip Rolls—the stretchy 40-inch candy rolls packed with sweet and sour fruity flavor.


Koko's Confectionery & Novelty
